Of Color Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to addressing the critical needs of homeless veterans, families and individuals. Our programs are designed to offer immediate support and long-term solutions, ensuring our clients can achieve stability and self-sufficiency. The Employment and Income Program responds to the understanding that no one who lives in Chicago should have to face poverty; that is a fundamental belief at Of Color Inc. We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to work and support themselves. With the generous support of All Chicago and the Department of Human Services and Housing & Urban Development (HUD), Of Color Inc. is able to enhance its commitment to helping homeless adults build brighter futures through meaningful employment.
Employment and Income participants are enrolled in tailored sessions to enhance their job readiness skills. Training includes resume building, interview preparation, job search strategies, and workplace skills. The Of Color Inc. team provides continuous support and guidance throughout the program by assisting each participant to navigate challenges, providing motivation, and ensuring they remain on track with their employment plan. We maintain a robust network of employer partners across various industries in Chicago. We work tirelessly to find alignment in the needs of our participants and employer partners.
Since its inception, Of Color Inc. has successfully assisted hundreds of homeless veterans and individuals in finding stable housing and gainful employment. Our holistic approach ensures that we address not just the immediate needs but also the underlying factors contributing to homelessness and unemployment. Through the use of numerous positive outlets and resources, Of Color, Inc.'s model helps each person achieve their goals and realize their ambitions by bringing H.O.P.E. to the minds of all marginalized, misrepresented, and forgotten people.
